Members of the region’s fashion fraternity are only getting more aggressive in their effort to promote local designers.

Bong Guerrero addresses the media during the press conference

At a press conference held on Monday to formally announce Season Three of Fashion Forward in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), Bong Guerrero, Founder and CEO of Fashion Forward said it was an exciting time for the team. “We are doing the right thing with the support of the industry and the vision of this region’s fashion industry. We have an abundance of talent in the region and we are all about bringing it in front of the public, so buyers notice them.”

The team has a vision of forming a creative fashion community to further their talents and strengths. Since fashion is part of everyone’s life today their goal is to encourage the next generation of designers and buyers. The main aim of season three of Fashion Forward is, of course, to promote Dubai as a serious fashion destination.

The event will also play host to a series of panel discussions and presentation by global experts from New York, London, Milan and Paris.

While Fashion Forward is regional in its vision, this year will see a couple of designers from London and Amsterdam also showcasing their wares.

One of the most popular designers of the region Ezra told City Times, “I had so much belief in the first season and I have seen it grow and I know they will contribute a lot for Design District in Dubai. This year my collection is about Morocco, a city that I really like.

Designer duo Taller Marmo will be presenting their fall 2014-25 collection during the event. “It is about empowerment of women and Muslim feminism. It is a strong collection. We are also presenting our new collection of Abbayas.”

This season will also concentrate on mentorship sessions by industry experts like Azza, Swarovski and Eureeca. There will also be more than 60 regional accessory designers showcasing and retailing at the venue.
