Below are a few simple food items that, when combined with the right diet and exercise, will help you lose the extra flab.

1. Green tea: It is loaded with antioxidants and has many powerful health benefits. Green tea boosts metabolism, helps burn fat, helps protect against diabetes, improves immunity. A cup of green tea is the healthiest way to start your day.

2. Honey: It is a very effective ingredient for weight loss. Amino acids present in honey help in boosting metabolism and preventing obesity. It can be taken early morning on an empty stomach. Mix one tablespoon of honey and lemon juice in warm water and drink on an empty stomach.

3. Warm water: Drink as much warm water during the day as possible. Warm water will eliminate fat deposits from your body.

4. Mint leaves: These have been proven amazing in helping ease digestion and in boosting metabolism. Add a few drops of mint leaf juice extract in a glass of luke warm water and mix it well. Drink this 30 minutes after a meal.

7. Fennel seeds: Consumption of fennel seeds has been an ancient way of decreasing appetite. Boil about 6 to 8 fennel seeds in a cup of water for a few minutes. Filter this water and drink it in the morning on an empty stomach.

8. Apple cider vinegar: Take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar everyday before going to bed. This will help burn body fat while you are asleep.

9. Aloe vera: Aloe vera is useful in treating obesity because it stimulates metabolism, increases energy consumption, and mobilizes unused fat in the body. Take two fresh aloe vera leaves, peel them and scoop out the pulp. Put the pulp in a blender along with one cup of citrus juice, such as orange or grapefruit juice. You can even add water. Blend it for two-three minutes. Drink daily for at least a month.

10. Cabbage: Make raw or boiled cabbage an integral part of your weight-loss diet. It contains tartaric acid that inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat. Moreover, it is rich in vitamin C and low in calories but high in fiber and water content.
