The move is the result of a kind gesture by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, who instructed the holding of a special commendation for a group of distinguished public employees, who won the DGEP award in the category of ‘excellent employees’.

A meeting was held recently by the Dubai Executive Council with members selected to leave for the US. This is the second exploratory mission to the US.

The meeting aimed at familiarising the ambassadors with the programme, its components, and the role expected from them to meet the goals of the government of Dubai.

Commenting on the gesture, Abdulla Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the DEC who also serves as Chairman of the DGEP, said: “Honouring a number of outstanding employees by Shaikh Hamdan by sending them to the US bears a developmental insight by allowing them to review the world government practices. It boosts the concept that excellence does not mean an award to win, but an award is a means which prompt employees for more development.”

The Ambassadors of Excellence Programme was designed to bolster the development of the government and fulfill the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
