Ahmad ElkhatibDubai: Shifra, a UAE-based value added distributor, will be showcasing its latest next-generation security solutions at this year’s GITEX Technology Week 2014 in October. The Middle East is seeing changes in the way organisations approach IT spending. Gartner recently forecasted that Middle East IT spending is projected to total $211 billion in 2014, an 8 per cent increase from 2013.

'The increase is proof that organisations in the Middle East are joining the rest of the world in its IT investment patterns and GITEX 2014 will illustrate this,' said Ahmad Elkhatib, Managing Partner at Shifra. 'GITEX Technology Week is an excellent platform for us to showcase our products and solutions on mobility and network security, address specific issues that organisations are facing and come up with solid, tailor-made solutions.'

Gartner further projected that the Middle East will represent 5.6 per cent of worldwide IT spending by 2018, predicting that smart government, big data and Internet of Things (IoT) will be some of the catalysts for ongoing transformation in the region.

'In order to facilitate this process we will showcase our latest technology products to our reseller partners and end-users so they can stay ahead of the curve. In addition this year we saw UAE return to spending on IT to support the growth of their business,' added Elkhatib.

Shifra (Stand D1-24) will exhibit services and solutions from its global vendors including, Gemalto, Aerohive Networks and Centrify.
