“There have been some concerns since the elections in Ukraine about possible delays, leading to questions over whether two of the host cities were behind schedule,” UEFA spokesman Rob Faulkner said at a press conference in Tel Aviv, where UEFA’s executive committee was meeting.

“But the Ukrainian government is fully behind all the projects and we have received a reconfirmation those projects are back on track and all the stadia will be delivered in time for Euro 2012.”

The harsh winter in Eastern Europe had also slowed down construction.

Faulkner noted that the main stadium in Kiev was one of the sites discussed in the meeting, which was closed to the press.

“But we don’t have any concerns about it being ready in time,” he said.
