The subjects will be introduced at the beginning of the new academic year. Speaking with Khaleej Times, Dr Ashok Kumar, CEO of Indian High School said, “These three subjects, particularly in the society we are living in are all pervasive. There is a huge demand for professionals in these spheres. We’re just providing opportunities for students to tread on and
take baby steps towards their dream career.”

Previously, these subjects were only available at schools in India. The three subjects will be introduced in a pilot phase and feedback from students will be reviewed after the first semester.

Students will be also allowed to withdraw from the new courses in their stream, if they wish to continue with the other electives. Civil Engineering will be offered to science stream students, whereas, media studies and retail will be offered to commerce stream students.

Students will have the liberty to choose from a combination of subjects given to them before commencement of classes. Industry professionals will teach the new courses introduced by the school. Currently, some of the most popular electives at the school include fashion studies, marketing and entrepreneurship.
