The Court of First Instance gave the 27-year-old Myanmarese one more month in jail for using liquor and ordered his deportation later.

According to the arraignment sheet of the Public Prosecution, he waited for the victim, a compatriot friend, to be alone and stabbed him with a kitchen knife he kept with him in advance. A Pakistani guard told the prosecutor that about 11pm on April 23 last year, he heard the victim’s body hitting the ground, shortly after seeing him sitting on the roadside smoking cigarettes. He then saw the victim and the defendant engaging in a fight. When the guard got close to the men, who smelled of liquor, he pulled the accused away and saw a blood-stained knife in his right hand.

A police corporal said the accused admitted he stabbed the victim, who was his friend, because he assaulted him a lot.
