A 16-year-old Sudanese teenager died after falling from the fifth floor of her building in Sharjah on Sunday.
The girl, a final grade student, who was identified as M.B., died at Al Qassimi Hospital early hours of Sunday, Sharjah Police said.
She fell from a window of her room in the apartment located in Bu Dang area in Sharjah.
When the police team comprising CID, patrols, ambulance reached the site, the girl was found alive and was rushed to the hospital.
According to forensic investigation, the girl fell on her chest and had suffered fracture in her ribs causing sever bleeding in the liver and lungs.
Sharjah Police launched intensified investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
A relative of the girl said that the teenager had her dinner on Sunday and went to sleep, but all of on a sudden she got up and complained of high fever, drowsiness, and breathing difficulty. She told the relative she needed to open the window for fresh air and then she fell off the window.
A similar incident happened recently when a 16-year-old Arab girl fell from the fourth floor of a building in Buhairah Corniche. She survived the fall and undergoing treatment as she has 20 fractures in various parts of her body.
Following the increasing incidents of children falling from high rise, Sharjah Police has recently launched intensified awareness campaign to educate the parents about important domestic safety procedures to prevent the incidents.
