Wajahat Husain, President of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council was pleased that new sponsors were coming forward to support the game.

“The season commenced with a bang with the Ramadan Twenty20 tournament. And we had two Abu Dhabi teams in the final. And Nissan Al Masaood won against one of the most toughest and consistent teams in Abu Dhabi—William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana. Now, we are onto our first tournament of the regular season. Time Electro Contracting CEO Abdul Aziz Chauhan, due to his passion for the game in engaging the youth of our society came forward to the sponsor the tournament. Sponsors are strategic partners in our road to promoting cricket,” Wajahat Husain said on Sunday.

Wajahat hoped that such a relationship would be durable and last for a long period and will help in spreading and development of the game in Abu Dhabi.

Dilawar Mani, CEO of the Emirates Cricket Board too echoed Wajahat’s view that new sponsors helps in promoting cricket. “I don’t have to be here but anything for the game of cricket and especially cricket in Abu Dhabi. New sponsors are coming forward to support the game which is good. Nothing promotes cricket more than getting new sponsors for domestic cricket,” Mani said.

“It is an honour to support the sport of cricket in Abu Dhabi and we hope that the cricketing community would embrace the tournament with both its participation and support. Cricket is recognised as a community sport of choice and we are extremely happy to sponsor such an event,” Abdul Aziz Chauhan, CEO of Time Electro Contracting, said.
