AKCAF cricket tournament from today
DUBAI - The 12th AKCAF Cricket Tournament will be held over a period of one month, beginning February 25, it was announced at a Press conference.
The event, affiliated to the Ajman Cricket Council and backed mainly by G-Force, will see matches up to the quarter-finals being played at the UAQ cricket ground.
The semi-finals and the title round, all night games, will be held on March 20, 21, 23 at Zabeel Park, Dubai, AKCAF said.
This is the first time in the 12-year of history of AKCAF, an apex body for over 50 colleges alumni, that 22 teams are participating.
Meanwhile, AKCAF along with G-Force will distribute cricket kits to the selected deserving labour camps as part of their social responsibility towards the less privileged.
Jet Airways will provide return flight tickets to the Best Batsman and Best Bowler in the AKCAF event, while the other support sponsors, Royal Truck Transports and Lifestyle Jewellery will provide the trophies. The other prizes will be sponsored by Amara, Glenda and Sharp with ISO-Star providing the energy drink throughout the tournament.
