The Khor Fakkan City Municipality has issued fines on six establishments for violating Covid-19 safety regulations, an official has said.
The businesses included gents’ salons, restaurants and public kitchens.
According to the official, municipality inspectors visited 20 establishments in the city. Multiple establishments also received warnings for exposing their customers to the risk of contracting the deadly virus.
The official also confirmed that the municipality would continue to carry out such inspections to ensure that all businesses operating in the city are doing so in compliance with the Covid safety protocols set in place to limit the spread of the virus.
The intensified inspections, being conducted in coordination with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, are to ensure that the firms follow the necessary Covid safety protocols in light of the recent rise in cases across the country, the official added.
