Closest final in SailGP history sees New Zealand take victory from Australia and Canada
Sharjah’s social services team has now started going house to house to administer seasonal flu vaccines to senior residents.
Families who wish to have their elderly members vaccinated at home may dial the toll-free number 800700.
This home vaccination drive against flu, which aims to cover all seniors across the emirate, will run until January 2021, according to the Social Services Department of the Government of Sharjah.
The initiative comes as a step to keep seniors safe and provide them with necessary medical care while implementing precautionary measures against Covid-19.
Senior Emiratis in other emirates will also get free flu shots at their homes, the Ministry of Health and Prevention had said in a recent announcement. Ten primary healthcare centres in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are taking part in the initiative.
Across the nation, a massive vaccination campaign is being carried out to protect residents from seasonal influenza. The jab is available for free to Emiratis and residents at high risk of contracting influenza, including those suffering from chronic diseases, children under five years of age, pregnant women, elderly and health workers. Expats who are not exempted from fees may take the jab for Dh50.
