Everyone in our group was feeling a bit low, so they decided to hold a proper 'cross my heart, no Googling, no cheating' quiz contest through one of those multiple audio-video apps.

There were friends from different countries and time zones, so by the time everyone had 'met' and asked after each other with little squeals of excitement it was well past the 8pm start time, but just seeing each other was a happy reminder that there is a world out there and friends are friends and in times like these count for a lot.

And then it was time to take the rust off the brains and the first of the 50 questions was how many mice had their tails cut off in the famous nursery rhyme. Easy peasy, this was going to be a cakewalk.

You jest. Which is the largest carnivore on land? Which animal has three hearts?

The questioning given the zest by half a dozen sidebar conversations of 30 odd friends catching up and several demands for repeating the questions over the happy, cheerful din many went unheard.

>Who founded the Beatles?
>Which bird flies backwards?
>Which is the longest river in the world?
>Why are the scores in tennis an absurd 15, 30, 40, game?
>Two countries in Africa starting with the letter A.
>What is the new name for Saigon?
>Which is the only tennis trophy that is gold in colour?
>Which famous duo sang 'Doctor I am in trouble'. Well goodness gracious me.
And goodness gracious, for the better part of two hours, we forgot about Covid-19 and the turmoil in the world and it was just so nice to be together and feel the warmth, albeit electronically, of the camaraderie that had been muted these past few weeks. Try it, get a few friends on line, it will work for you.

What part of America was the locale for 'Gone with the Wind'?
