The authorities have capped social gatherings at a maximum of 20 people, who have to maintain a distance of four metres between them. The guests would be apprised of the precautionary measures before an event starts and the venue must have adequate ventilation.
Guests must avoid physical contacts such as handshakes and hugging each other. The use of face masks is mandatory at all times, the authorities stated. Each table is allowed to sear four people and santising equipment should always be at hand, they added.
A DSVA official told Khaleej Times that authorities have been carrying out a vigorous Covid-19 awareness campaign across the emirate in a bid to rein in the spread of the contagion.
The authorities have visited 40 homes in the rural parts of the emirate to distribute masks and sanitisers.
The heightened precautionary measures come into force in Sharjah following a spike in Covid-19 cases amid a mass vaccination drive across the UAE.
