New set of guidelines were issued on Saturday for working from government offices in Abu Dhabi. This is first sign of the emirate taking steps towards return to normalcy in the face of fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, government entities can continue to work at full capacity while applying the guidelines, and taking into account that maximum attendances does not exceed 35 per cent of the workplace capacity. Each entity will implement the necessary mechanisms according to the guidelines. Capacity of government entities will be reviewed and updated weekly as per requirements.
The new guidelines make optimum use of latest technology, tracing app and also integrated online portal TAMM, which offers all Abu Dhabi Government services.
These guidelines are applicable to office employees, suppliers and customers. These are to be followed before attending or visiting and travelling to government offices.
Everyone is urged to mandatorily download Al Hosn App, which displays people's health status and enables health authorities to identify people at risk of contracting Covid-19.
Employees and customers should check their temperature before leaving home.
Customers must first ensure whether the required type of service is available online at the government portal TAMM, or via the entity's website.
Suppliers should check with the government entity whether they can submit invoices electronically or have online tender sessions.
Use private transportation and avoid public transportation whenever possible. There will be temperature check at building entrance and allow phone's QR code to be scanned on arrival at office building.
Measures to be followed prior to entering office
Everyone must wear gloves and mask, maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres and minimise use of handles and avoid use of paper. A glass barrier must be installed between employees and customer to prevent spread of infection, no handshakes, not more than two people can use elevator at a time, regularly sanistise hands, use videoconferencing for meetings, prayer rooms and shared areas will remain closed. Everyone is requested to follow updates issued by Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre.
Exempted categories
There are exempted categories, who may continue working from home. This includes employees living with diagnosed cases of Covid-19, or those who have symptoms. Those who have chronic diseases, people of determination, pregnant and breastfeeding employees, and employees over the age of 60.
Also, employees living with vulnerable people like senior citizens, people with chronic diseases and pregnant women, family members who need constant care.
Employees who have one or more family members exposed to Covid-19 cases, or are at risk of being infected based on the nature of work.
Employees who are parents of children below Grade 10, and this apply to just one parent with validity until the end of the academic year.
