The Hive Theatre Festival is back for its 7th edition with a number of plays being performed by young actors
Salman happens to be a fan of Raj Kapoor’s, and he wanted to gift a portrait of the filmmaker to his family. So he made the painting and was looking for the right opportunity to gift it.
When he learnt that Ranbir and Deepika Padukone would be guests on his show, Dus Ka Dum, Sallu immediately sent the painting first to Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna, to seek her approval.
Says a source, “Salman wanted Krishna Kapoor’s approval as he wanted to be sure that his work would be accepted by the family.” Krishna loved the portrait. The painting was then sent back to Salman, who gifted it to Ranbir on the sets of the show, which have been erected in RK Studios in Chembur, Mumbai.
Ranbir has now put up the painting at the RK Cottage, which is built beside RK Studios in the same premises. “The RK Cottage is very special as Raj Kapoor wrote his scripts and worked on his films there,” the source adds.
Ranbir’s mother, Neetu Kapoor, confirmed the news, saying, “I haven’t seen the painting yet, but Ranbir says it’s really beautiful. I’m very fond of Salman and am going to see the painting very soon.”
