Whether you were born here, have lived here most of your life or are relatively new to the UAE, getting in the spirit of National Day is part and parcel of the Dubai experience. Every year, streets come alive with the sound of residents celebrating and taking advantage of the fantastic offers around town.

Festivities last long into the night and (most importantly for this page) car owners try and outdo each other by decorating their vehicles in the most fervent artistic expressions of patriotism imaginable.

Pictures of the rulers, flags, banners and even national symbols will all be seen stuck to the side or flying off the top of all manner of automobiles.

This year sees the country turning 40, which means celebrations will go into overdrive, if you’ll pardon the pun. So much so in fact that even a regional car dealer has got in on the act and will provide a limited addition vehicle to mark the 40-year triumph.

Al-Futtaim Motors, the distributors for Toyota in the UAE, chose the Dubai International Motor Show to begin celebrations for the 40th anniversary by revealing a limited edition Land Cruiser.

“2011 marks an important page in the history of the UAE. While the government has organised special programmes of spectacular events and community activities, we at Al-Futtaim Motors wanted to celebrate this important milestone our own special way. As a tribute to the nation and its people, Al-Futtaim Motors Toyota will launch a limited edition of the SUV that reflects the UAE colours, symbols and spirit of the nation,” said Simon Frith, managing director of Al-Futtaim Motors.

Featuring unique specification for Emirati customers who are proud to demonstrate their love for the nation, the UAE 40th Land Cruiser limited edition comes fitted with attractive exterior and interior accessories that reflect the unique occasion.

The D-pillars of the vehicle display the official logo of the United Arab Emirates, the Sheaar Al Dowla, featuring the falcon and UAE flag design, rendered in a three-dimensional chrome emblem. Celebratory UAE flag side graphics complete the themed exterior. In addition, LED daytime running lights present a stylish facelift favoured by Land Cruiser drivers, adding enhanced visibility, safety and style to the vehicle.

The interior of the vehicle features the Sheaar Al Dowla Falcon emblem on the centre console, and a translucent graphic of the Sheaar Al Dowla on the sunroof glass. Opening the front doors reveals an illuminated sill plate showing the 40th National Day message. The vehicle is also equipped with magnetic sun shades that feature a UAE flag logo.

So if you’re at a loss for how to show your pride, why not check this car out?
