The wind technical stream to be held here on January 20 is one of the most highly anticipated event this year with Ditlev Engel, CEO of Vestas, Frank Mastiaux, CEO of E.ON Climate and Renewables, and Lassi Noponen, Chairman of Winwind attending it to explain commercial project to delegates and giving business insight to summit delegates.

Spain, the third-largest generator of wind power in the world, will be hosting a national pavilion for the duration of the Summit. Denmark, world leaders in wind turbine production, will also be hosting a national pavilion, according to a Press release received here from the organisers.

Quotinga Credit Suisse report, the release said wind energy is the most affordable form of zero emissions energy beside hydro power. With its competitiveness and scalability, wind energy is the “backbone of ‘alternative energy production,’ the report says.

“Wind will continue to play a crucial part within renewable energy” says Lassi Noponen, Chairman of Winwind. “The Wind industry is rapidly evolving due to changes in economy, technologies, competitive landscape as well as the emergence of new business models.” “The financial crisis has made project financing considerably more expensive,” according to Mastiaux, “It has to be seen whether this could be offset by reduced equipment prices and additional stimulus packages that governments intend to put in place.” According to the release, Steve Sawyer from The Global Wind Energy Council, has said that “wind is the premium option for countries to “reduce their dependence on imported energy, reduce their CO2 emissions and reduce air pollution.”
