Etisalat launched its 4G LTE and eLife services over VSAT technology on the sidelines of the IBC Content Everywhere Mena event, organised by IBC in Dubai from January 20 to 22.

Etisalat is the first operator to launch 4G LTE and triple play services (eLife) via VSAT in the Middle East. It will allow customers in remote, desert and off shore areas to enjoy high-speed data and watch eLife channels over VSAT technology.

Tareq Abdulla Al Kharji, senior vice president, data centres and cloud solution at Etisalat, said: “VSAT technology provides a powerful and secure connectivity solution for companies that work in remote areas. Etisalat has more than two decades of experience in providing advanced solutions for a wide range of customers, from major oil companies to governmental entities.”

RTA honours du for WiFi on Dubai Tram

Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) recently honoured du for its provision of WiFi on the Dubai Tram through a first of its kind network system.

Present at the ceremony, held at the RTA’s headquarters in Dubai as part of the Strategic Partners Participating in the Execution of the Dubai Tram Project event, was Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the RTA, who presented the award.

ADCB appoints UK country head

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) announced the appointment of David Manson as country head, UK, and head of the ADCB (UK) Representative Office in London.

With 30 years of experience in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, David Manson will be leading ADCB’s strategy and business development for the UK business. Colin Fraser, head of wholesale banking at ADCB, said: “David will be an instrumental piece to our international business as ADCB strives to expand its client services cross-border and in major international money centres.  Majid Al Futtaim announced the appointment of Michael Cesarz as chief executive officer of its shopping malls business unit.

Cesarz is an accomplished real estate executive with experience in design, development, project management and operations across several real estate asset classes. His experience includes a number of senior management roles, such as CEO and chairman of Metro Group Asset Management and head of construction and member of the board at Peek & Cloppenburg KG.

Noor Bank extends mortgage promotion

Noor Bank has extended its three-month payment holiday promotion on home finance until March 31, 2015. The offer allows customers to pay the first installment after three months of finance disbursal, with no additional charges.
