In the first transparent list of popular financial products in the UAE, users selected the Emirates NBD loans option — offered to expats with a minimum salary of Dh5,000 at a profit rate of 6.66 per cent — as its number one.

Souqlamal.com, the Middle East’s leading price comparison website, compiled its list of the top-five most viewed financial products across four categories: Credit cards, personal loans, home loans and car loans. Products only made the list if they received the most views from visitors to the website.

The list acts as an indicator of which products are garnering the most interest in the personal finance market — a useful tool for both banks and consumers.

Ambareen Musa, CEO of Souqalmal.com, said: “We are very excited by our new top-five list. It is the first published list of its kind and we feel it offers UAE residents an interesting insight into what financial products others are interested in.”

“By visiting the website and then clicking on a particular product, users were given a voice to tell us what they liked.”

The most popular credit card on the top five list was the najm Blue Card, which offers cash back on spends at Carrefour and has a monthly interest rate of 3.09 per cent.

Souqalmal.com visitors also voted ADIB Home Finance for Expats with a variable reducing rate starting at 4.49 per cent as its most popular home loan option. This mortgage requires a down payment of 30 per cent and offers a maximum loan amount of Dh10 million. ADIB was also the winner in the most popular car loans category with its ADIB New Car Finance Ijarah — offered to those on a minimum salary of Dh5,000 at a reducing rate of 7.24 per cent.
