Tamkeen reaches out to public

As part of its ongoing efforts to communicate directly with the public and to collect feedback from its various stakeholders, Tamkeen will hold a consultation session on November 3 to discuss its programmes and the priorities for 2016.
The session will include bringing together professionals from different fields including business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, job seekers, students and other stakeholders.
The forum will begin with an overview of Tamkeen's accomplishments in 2015 .
Think Pink awareness week held
The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) College of Medicine and Medical Sciences has held a week-long awareness campaign under the slogan "Think Pink".
The event was held in cooperation with the AGU Students' Deanship Affairs as part of efforts to stress the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection.
The campaign is in line with university's drive to combat widespread diseases in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and spread the culture of fighting breast cancer.
AGU Students' Care Chief Shaikha Mona bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa stressed the vital role of students in promoting national anti-cancer programmes and campaigns, warning against the danger of breast cancer which affects women over thirty in particular.
"Students contribute actively through such campaigns and functions in promoting the culture of fighting breast cancer", she said, stressing the importance of following a healthy food lifestyle, exercising and avoiding bad habits", she said.
The university students are also planning to take part in the Cancer Walkathon, an event annually organised by Bahrain Breast Cancer Society.
Invest in Bahrain Forum on November 4
Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will patronise the 2015 Invest in Bahrain Forum on November 4.
The forum, organised by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, will offer investment opportunities in the field of knowledge-based industries prepared by the ministry in cooperation with GOIC and the World Bank.
It will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in cooperation and coordination with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); Economic Development Board (EDB), the Labour Fund "Tamkeen"; Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company; Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), United Nations Industrial Development "UNIDO" and GCC Chambers Federation.
Mumtalakat will give a detailed presentation of the environment and investment opportunities in the telecommunications and logistics sectors.
Gulf Aluminium Council will present investment opportunities in the aluminum sector. Mondelez International (Kraft Foods previously) will review its vision about the reality and opportunities of investing in the food industry in Bahrain.
