Entry of expatriates has been banned by authorities in Makkah from Shawwal 25 until Zul Hijjah 10. The ban has been imposed for the first time this year for those visiting the holy city via Haramain Train, reported Saudi Gazette.
The move comes in accordance to the royal order banning expatriates from entering the holy city from Shawwal 25 every year except for those living in the holy city or are working there during the Haj season.
The ban is imposed every year at the gateways to Makkah and applies to all modes of transport including cars, buses and trucks.
Further those exempted from the ban must obtain travel permits from authorities.
