“The pictures are too small and the elderly people and those with vision problem find it difficult to view the candidates before choosing them.”

The electronic system is advanced and has facilitated and accelerated the election process, but some elderly people have been finding it difficult to see the candidates clearly, besides the fear of using the computer, Al Matroushi pointed out.

However, Matroushi hailed the enthusiastic spirit of the people of Ajman who travelled long distances from remote areas of the emirate in the early hours of the morning to perform their duty towards their country which is stepping towards the path of democracy.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brigadier Al Matroushi said that the women candidates in Ajman were very capable of conveying the message of the people to the FNC and to address issues that affected the community.

“But I don’t expect the victory of women in Ajman, as the number of women voters is small and also the pulse of the public opinions does not indicate that a woman candidate will be elected,” said Brig Al Matroushi.
