On this auspicious occasion of the 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan, I would like to wholeheartedly extend my wishes and greetings to all Pakistanis residing in the beloved UAE as well as those back in the homeland. I pray for a prosperous future of the country and its people, and wish Prime Minister Imran Khan an upcoming year of many great achievements for the betterment of the nation.
Despite its past challenges, the future of Pakistan perhaps now appears more promising than ever before. No doubt, the expatriate community has high hopes and expectations from the current Government as it continues to tackle many bequeathed obstacles, undergoes a course correction, and addresses the key areas that will benefit all: improved security, a prosperous economy, and a better quality of life for its citizens.
I remain supremely confident that Prime Minister Imran Khan will sincerely and relentlessly serve in the best interest of the country. I wish Pakistan and its people a great future ahead.
On this day, we should celebrate our great country's many accolades, but we should also remind ourselves that as expatriates living abroad each of one of us serves as an ambassador; we should be obliged to represent and reflect the best of Pakistan and also do our best to contribute to the country's success in whatever ways we may be able to do so.
The UAE has blessed us with many opportunities, has allowed us to call it home, and we remain grateful to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and the President of the UAE, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE.
I encourage all Pakistanis residing here to proudly show our best to the world and remain involved in fostering better relations between these two brotherly countries.
Imran Chaudhry is chairman of the Dubai-based Cinergie Group of Companies.
