UN fact-finding mission has uncovered violations by both sides, 'which may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity'.
The programme, being conducted by the Ras Al Khaimah Dental Centre, aims to raise awareness about dental care among students as the number of dental infection cases among children is on the
rise in the UAE.
The ministry had earlier introduced the programme in Sharjah kindergartens with the slogan
“Brush your teeth”.
The programme is now being extended to the Northern Emirates.
Dr Ibrahim Arabi, Director of the ministry’s Department of Dental Health, said the programme would help children learn the proper ways of cleaning the teeth and mouth regularly and prevent problems such as
tooth decay.
He noted that scores of children in Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates are suffering from dental diseases due to the lack of awareness about the effects of dental care.
A study conducted by the Dental Centre in Ras Al Khaimah schools recently showed that 52 per cent of the children have dental diseases and that their parents are not aware of the preventive methods.
Dr Arabi said the ministry has intensified campaigns to spread dental health awareness among children and parents.
