Among them is Jet Airways, which operates six flights daily to Doha.
A Jet Airways spokesperson told Khaleej Times that "all the scheduled flights to and from Doha will operate on alternate flight paths via Iran, avoiding the UAE airspace".
Because of the alternate routes, Jet Airways flights are taking between 10 minutes (New Delhi) to 40 minutes (Trivandrum) longer than previous flights through UAE airspace.
"The airline plans to augment its crew members to accommodate for the additional flying time," the spokesperson added, noting that Jet Airways is also "endeavoring to obtain clearance from the General Civil Aviation Authority (of the UAE) to overfly UAE airspace".
"Our schedules have been provided to the GCAA," the spokesperson noted. "Once approved, our flights will be able to resume operating on the normal routes."
Similarly, Air India Express CEO K Shyam Sundar was quoted by PTI as saying that the duration of Air India flights to Doha "will increase by an hour a half or so in either direction".
"We will have to avoid the UAE airspace and fly over Pakistan and Iran instead," he said.
Additionally, an IndiGo spokesperson noted that "flight operations from Mumbai will be routed via Iran and Karachi".
According to Indian media reports, nearly 1.6 million Indian passengers flew between India and Doha in 2016.
