Haya is patron of London orchestra
DUBAI — Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has agreed to become the patron of the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s work in Dubai, it was announced here yesterday.
The orchestra’s activity in Dubai is taking place in partnership with Dubai Properties, a member of Dubai Holdings, on a multi-faceted basis that will in the first instance see the orchestra advise on the construction of a concert hall within the Dubai Cultural Village and the establishment of a music conservatoire attached to the hall. In the longer term, the orchestra will establish an annual residency at the hall one it opens.
Dubai Properties has also committed to the sponsorship of a series of the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s international performances over the coming two years as a way of increasing the profile of the Dubai Cultural village worldwide.
