With the Eid Al Adha holidays right around the corner, some of us are considering spending the long break out of the country. One of the places that is frequented by travelling residents is Georgia. Georgia is a popular holiday destination among residents because there are always good deals on flights from Dubai to Tbilisi. Apart from that, expats who hold a UAE residence permit get a visa on arrival.
While Georgia is a great destination to visit, there are some other nearby locations that residents should consider. Below are some great countries to visit this Eid Al Adha 2019.
Azerbaijan
Visa: 1-month tourist visa for UAE residence permit holders
Just south of Georgia is Azerbaijan. The country is a mix of both Asian and European influences and it shows in its landmarks such as the Walled City of Baku. It is also home to two UNESCO sites - Shirvanshah's Palace and Maiden Tower.
Russia
Visa: Required
If you've got the reasonable-sized budget, consider Russia. The country's visa requirements are not much (they don't ask for bank statements!) and you get a lot of mileage from your money because of the exchange rate. Flights usually hover around the Dh1,500 range.
Armenia
Visa: Free for Indians and Filipinos
Another favourite among UAE residents. When choosing holidays, it's almost always a pick between either Georgia or Armenia. And why not? Both countries are known for being fairly cheap and easy to visit.
Nepal
Visa: Free for Indians, on arrival for Filipinos, Pakistanis
The home of Mt. Everest - one of the world's natural wonders. Apart from Everest, there's also the multitude of temples that dot the city. Flights hover around the Dh1,300 range.
