The Dubai Municipality has completed all arrangements to welcome Eid Al Fitr for the public during the upcoming holidays.

The Eid musallahs and public areas have been cleaned and entertainments planned in public parks. Stringent food control measures are in place to ensure food safety; so are efforts to monitor the sale of hazardous fire crackers.

Sultan Ali Tahir, head of food inspection section at the Food Control Department, said the department has intensified inspection of foodstuff establishments, keeping in view the large quantity of foodstuff that is sold during this time. “The foodstuff that can easily go bad in the hot weather is under strict monitoring,” he said.

“Our inspectors would be concentrating on the areas where there are increased activities. Traditional kitchens are also under constant check.”

The Public Parks and Horticulture Department has a line-up of entertainment programmes to attract visitors to the parks.

Ahmed Hassan Shammari, head of the abattoir section, said the department is ensuring abattoirs maintain hygiene during the Eid holidays. Every stage in the preparation of meat items is being monitored. —news@khaleejtimes.com
