A record 14,000 residents danced, skipped and cartwheeled their way through palm trees and arches to the beat of  island-style music on Saturday.
The ColorRun presented by Daman's ActiveLife saw residents run through a 5km riot of colours as the event returned to Dubai Autodrome.
During the finish festival, participants enjoyed interactive fun at the 'Rainbow Beach' with dancing, music, an array of activities from the event's sponsors and massive colour throws.
Dr Michael Bitzer, chief executive officer of the National Health Insurance Company (Daman), said: "We are delighted to present this much-loved event for the seventh time in the UAE. It offers motivation and drive for first-time runners and an exciting day out for families and friends, no matter what their fitness level is."
The event aims to empower the UAE community to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
Greg Sproule, managing director of IMG Middle East, said: "The ColorRun has proven to be one of the country's most popular exercise events with around 70,000 participants taking part throughout the past seven UAE events, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more Color Runners to Abu Dhabi next year."
In keeping with the event's community focus, $1 from every entry at the event was donated to Friends of Cancer Patients through the Just Giving platform.
