A Mumbai-based businessman, aged 54, committed suicide by jumping from his 17th-floor apartment on Thursday morning. He went for his morning walk as usual at 8.45 am, went to his bedroom and jumped from his apartment.
A report in Hindustan Times says that a day before killing himself, Manish Mehta, a resident of Kandivli in Mumbai, spoke to his family about financial trouble in his business.
"His kin said there was a dip in exports during the monsoon and there is no foul play involved in the case," An officer investigating the suicide case was quoted by Hindustan Times.
He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The police have not found a suicide note.
The police is investigating the case and checking his call records to ascertain the reason for his death.
