Ajman urban planning conference from April 24

The eighth International Urban Planning Conference, Ajman, will start on April 24, under the slogan 'Towards happy cities for tolerant people' at the Emirates Hospitality Center. The three-day conference will be organised by the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.
Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, director of the Ajman Municipality's project section and chairman of the conference's organising committee, said that the emirate conducts the event every year, proving its continuous success in attracting tourists and visitors across the world. Al Muhairi said its previous seven sessions had hosted senior architects and urban planners across the world to listen to their views and achievements. Their ? experiences had helped the development processes in the UAE.
Al Muhairi said that the conference hosts delegations from cities that has succeeded in planning and design of cities to achieve happiness and tolerance, like the Arab cities of Makkah, Luxor, Muscat, Riyadh in addition to Frankfurt, Germany and Vienna.
The first day of the conference will hold forums where an expert panel will discuss the latest trends and policies in ??city planning and architecture and link it to the development in Ajman in particular and the UAE in general.
The second day of the conference consists of two sessions with the first session entitled Happiness, while the second session deals with the subject of tolerant societies. "The third day will include three sessions focusing on topics of happiness and tolerance.
"Our country has come a long way striking great models and leading examples. We will move forward in the same way and work on positive development to achieve the desired goals that benefit all segments of society," he said.
