76 donate blood
SHARJAH — The Department of Blood Transfusion Services of the Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Damas Cultural and Social Care Department, recently organised a blood donation campaign that saw 76 volunteers stepping forward to donate blood.
The department provides blood units to government and private hospitals.

Hospital waste
DUBAI — Belhoul European Hospital has collaborated with Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) to combat the waste problem in the UAE, by recycling all paper in the hospital.
"It’s our aim to help reduce the amount of trees that are destroyed for paper. If we can help save at least one tree a year then we will be able to make a difference to the environment," says Ms Nabila Brik, Belhoul European Hospital's Marketing and Corporate Relations Manager.
11Meditation courses
DUBAI — A 10-day free meditation course is being organised by the Vipassana International Academy, Igatpuri from August 18 to 29 at Barracuda Beach Resort, Umm Al Quwain.
During the course, participants will learn the basics of the method, and practise sufficiently to experience the benefits.
