Bin Dimas hailed the companies who have responded positively to the ministry's decision saying, "More than 300 nationals are recruited in PRO posts by private companies weekly. About half of the targeted companies have complied with the ministry's rule."
Commenting on the performance of the newly appointed national PROs, he said, that unlike the first few days of the enforcement of the decision, the ministry has not received any complaints or notice from private companies. However, a few companies have complained about nationals refusing to join their jobs inspite of being issued PRO cards.
"This was the major problem cited by a few companies. The matter has prompted the ministry to prepare a special labour contract that ensures the welfare of the employer by issuing a minimum work period for national PROs. The proposed contract will also ensure the welfare of both signing parties as per the terms of the labour law," he added.
Bin Dimas said that all these problems were discussed during a meeting held ten days ago with job seekers, of whom 150 were potential PROs. The meeting called on national job seekers to take the matter seriously as the ministry wanted them to work wholeheartedly.
"It seems that we have succeeded in conveying the message behind employing nationals in this post. We have stressed the importance of taking the job seriously to national job seekers and to consider the welfare of their employers. They cannot withdraw after promising to take the job," he noted.
