A wrong step can land even the toughest of men in trouble.
Sifiso Lungelo Thabete, a bodybuilder, didn't live to realize this. He lost his life after making a botched backflip attempt. Thabete, who was initially jeered for his misstep, died of injuries he sustained in the stunt.
The bodybuilder was competing with others and entered the arena to entertain the crowd. The tragic footage shows Thabete trying to backflip, but not rotating far enough. He hits his head on the ground, and as a result breaks his neck. It's all over in a flash.
For some seconds, people keep expecting that the guy will get up. But when he keeps lying motionless, several people run to the arena and are shocked to find what had happened.
The video went viral as the tragedy unfolded.
Thabete was reportedly an International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Junior World Champion in the up-to-165-pound category. He recently won an event at the IFBB Muscle Mulisha Grand Prix.

Muscle Evolution, a South African bodybuilding magazine, said the bodybuilding community was "shocked and saddened" by the news of Thabete's death, the New York Post reports.
