A bride made an emotional tribute to her husband with terminal cancer, shaving her head on their wedding day.
According to media reports, Joan Lyons, 44, from Liverpool, took the decision to use her wedding to 'childhood sweetheart' Craig, who has pancreatic cancer, as a way to raise funds for charity.
In August 2015, Craig was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and given 9 to 12 months to live.
The pair have known each other for 27 years and decided to marry after Craig confessed he had been in love with Joan his whole life.
At the wedding, Joan did something a little "out there." She left the reception to wash and dry her hair - and came back with a razor, reports Huffington Post.
Guests crowded around her, staring as her friend cut the first lock of her long, brown hair and began to shave her head.
A number of local firms donated their time to the wedding, after the Gift of a Wedding charity posted on social media to request help from local businesses to help organise the wedding, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Joan posted on her JustGiving page:

"On 15th April 2016 I will be getting married to my childhood sweetheart Craig, who was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer last year.
"On our wedding night, our celebration party will also serve as a fundraising event where I will complete my head shave task in his honour and to honour and support those affected by life limiting illness."
The wedding took place on Friday, April 15, the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, with Craig and Joan deciding to mark the anniversary with the release of 96 balloons, one for each of the 96 that lost their lives.
Mercury Press released a statement in which Craig was quoted as saying:
"It was the obviously the first time I had seen Joan without her hair and she looked beautiful, absolutely stunning.
"Joan is a woman with a really big heart and it was no surprise that she wanted to help raise money with her big day.
"The response we have had was fantastic and we have still got donations flooding in.
"We really want to raise awareness of the disease too because it is quite rare for me to get it in my forties, people usually get it in their sixties.
