Three foreign trekkers die in Nepal

A Nepalese official says three foreign trekkers have died in separate incidents in a mountainous area of the Himalayan country this week.

Police official Rajendra Pokhrel in Mustang district said onFriday that an Israeli man died when he fell off a footbridge, while Austrian and German trekkers died due to high altitude sickness on Thursday. They were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment but died. Pokhrel said police were confirming the names of the trekkers.

The district is 200 kilometers (125 miles) northwest of the capital Katmandu and a popular trekking site for its mountain trails.
