Ship hits rockss off Turkey’s Aegean coast

ANKARA — Turkey’s state-run news agency says a freighter has hit rocks off Turkey’s Aegean coast and rescue workers are trying to evacuate the 12 crew members.

The Anatolia news agency says Monday that the ship hit the rocks off the town of Turgutreis, close to the resort town of Bodrum on the Aegean coast. It says a rescue operation is under way to remove the crew.

There are no reports of casualties.
