Karachi: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to take action against those patronising extortionists in Karachi.
According to media reports, the premier issued these directives in his brief meeting with Shah at the Karachi airport. The PM reportedly instructed Shah to take action against influential political figures involved in practice of extortion.
The PM directives came in the wake of a report by Rangers which revealed that over Rs230 billion were being collected annually from Karachiites through extortion and other illegal means.
