A heart-stopping footage captured the moment an aircraft was hit by three lightning bolts shortly before it safely landed at London's Heathrow Airport.
The short video was filmed by a witness from the seventh-floor balcony of a building and shows the plane flying amid the rainy weather and cloudy skies.
According to reports in Daily Mail, the incident occurred on June 6 when the plane was flying over central London. Three bolts of lightning struck the aircraft at the same time following which a roaring thunder rumbled across the sky.
A witness who filmed the moment said, "What a moment to get the camera out. When I watched it back I thought 'Oh my God it's hit the plane'. It was such a large bolt it looks like it hit the floor. I just hope no one was hurt."

There were no injuries reported after the lightning struck the plane.
While according to Daily Mail, it is estimated that each plane is hit by lightning at least once every two years. But passenger planes are built with electrical shielding which protects the inside of the plane from lightning bolts. While passengers on board the plane usually just experience a quick flash.
