Arrow symbol alloted to PPPP

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday allotted the symbol “Arrow” to the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians ( PPPP) on Monday but decision over registration by the name of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was deferred.

A three member bench of the commission headed by justice (Retd) Riaz Kayani resumed the hearing over the allotment of the “Arrow” symbol and the name of the Pakistan People’s Party.

The Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians was represented by its president, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, while Ghinwa Bhutto, chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB), requested the ECP to register her party as the Pakistan People’s Party and for the allottment of “Sword” as the election symbol for her party. The third claim on the name and symbol “Arrow” has been filed by dissident faction led by Naheed Khan, former political secretary of slain premier Benazir Bhutto.
