The Executive Bureau of Arab Health Ministers agreed on Wednesday on providing healthcare for Syrian refugees and support to the Palestinian health sector.
According to the Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, in statements to reporters for following its meeting in Cairo, the Executive Bureau Chief and Kuwaiti Health Minister, Ali Al Obaidi, noted that the conferees approved an Egyptian proposal to conduct a study on the medical needs of the countries which are hosting Syrian refugees as a prelude to meeting those needs.
They also approved a proposal to provide technical and financial aid to the Palestinian health sector, he said.
Al Obaidi added that the conference attendees endorsed the agenda and draft resolutions of the 45th Health Ministers Council Meeting, due to begin in Cairo today (Thursday March 3rd).
He pointed out that Kuwait has presented a number of proposals for beefing up Arab cooperation in medical emergencies and countering communicable diseases.
The Executive Bureau discussed means to buttress coordination and exchange experience and healthcare-related information among Arab countries, and reviewed the medical aspects of the Arab 2030 development goals, the minister added.
