What I love the most about men's fashion - without, of course, understanding much of it - is how FREE and candid the not-so-fair sex has become about making style statements. Once upon a time, a man was considered well-dressed when he wore his tux, and ensured his tie/cuff links/shoes/watch complemented his general ensemble. Today, he can be funky, edgy, boho, even chic, and break all straitjackets... everyone applauds if he can pull it off; no one judges him. This week, we decided to feature some of the most "interestingly-dressed" men around town - the sort who can go to a formal do in a leather do, and no one will be showing him the door because he looks so darned cool. Meet some of Dubai's dapper dudes, who believe style is constantly evolving, and find out what makes them tick in the fashion capital of the Middle East.
I'm sure all of you have met annoying people at the workplace: how do you contend with the serial 'small-talk' colleague who just cannot seem to shut up? Or the one who habitually snoops around your workstation? Check out our feature on this workplace hazard.
In Travel, a KT staffer writes about her experience with the deadly Komodo dragons at a forest reserve in Indonesia. A bit like Jurassic Park, she had to really watch where she was going, and look over her shoulder every once in a while. Bollywood goes theatre-watching this time: dramatisation of the great Mughal-e-Azam for the stage - an exercise that has worked brilliantly, going by all reports. Meet an eight-year-old boy, who beat cancer and went on to win gold in chess. Would you (and I'm talking to men here) relocate to a new city - for the sake of the woman you love? That's what Talking Point is about this time.
All this and much more.
Enjoy reading wknd. and have a great weekend.
