The Dubai Design Week has been making waves of late, with a number of interesting and unique exhibits, events and talks happening all around town. Now, the popular Ripe Food & Craft Market is also collaborating with Dubai Design Week to host the Ripe Design Market this weekend, on October 30-31, bringing the region's best local SME businesses comprising artists, designers, and culinary delights together to showcase their work.
Set in the new architectural grounds of D3, the Ripe Design Market will create a beautiful atmosphere for alfresco dining, a relaxed day with family and friends, or shopping, with entertainment from local artists, pop up shops, and workshops for children. From local fashion designers, art, jewellery and interior design there will be something for everyone, plus food treats and live cooking stations. The Ripe Design Market will take place at D3, Dubai Design District, from 9 am to 6 pm on both days.
Meditate in Dubai
Everyone seems to be into some form of yoga or the other in Dubai, but if you're still on the quest for inner peace, it's time to meditate! Yoga Studio is hosting 'Dubai Meditates' on October 31 (Saturday). The free-of-charge event will focus on "Circle of Love" meditation, and through expert guidance, you can enter a profound vortex of healing energy that will assist you in healing all dimensions of your being. This transformational meditation will be enhanced by the soothing sounds of creation, and the ancient cosmic sounds of gongs to create the perfect vibrations for every cell in your body.

Imagine opening your post box to find a beautifully packaged bundle of colourful letters. then untying this bundle with eagerness to find that the letters were written with love by strangers, just to inspire and uplift you!
The Goodwill Tribe, a kindness initiative co-founded by Injoy Giving, hosts monthly events where the community is invited to a 'love letter writing party'. They receive letter requests from the community, which means anyone can be nominated to receive a bundle of letters. At the events, tables are laid out with beautiful stationery, requests are presented, and people are invited to write to strangers. The letters are then beautifully designed, packaged and delivered anonymously as a surprise to the nominees.
This month, Pantry café is hosting this unique letter writing party in their warm space at Bay Square, on October 31 (Saturday) between 4-6pm. In honour of breast cancer awareness month, the letter requests at this gathering are for people who have fought breast cancer, or faced it in the family, in their lives.

Battle Breast Cancer, Safe & Sound
Join the ongoing fight against breast cancer under the aegis of the Safe & Sound Campaign and community celebration, to be hosted by Burjuman at Kite Beach on Friday, October 31. You get to crusade for a good cause while having tons of fun at the same time. UAE residents are invited to gather at the main food court area of the beach from 3:30-5:30pm to enjoy a number of fun-filled activities to mark the end of this year's all-important breast cancer awareness month.
The highlight of the evening will be a pink-themed SkyDive Dubai jump and a children's entertainment corner, featuring bouncy castles, face painting, magic shows, balloon counter, nail art and more! Entrance to the event is free.
