Civic body confirms smooth functioning of city after heavy rain
The Sewage and Irrigation Network Department of Dubai Municipality, in cooperation with different departments and authorities, has completed the cleaning process of the city of Dubai after the heavy rain and blustery weather remained in last two days all over the emirate.
Having developed an effective and integrated contingency plan to remove and discharge water clusters created by rainfalls on roads, squares and neighbourhoods in Dubai, the department has ensured service facilities for better functioning.
“The Contact Centre of civic body has received about 498 notification calls on different types of incidents during and after the rain. Most of the calls were related to the falling of trees and traffic blocks due to fallen trees and heavy water logs,” Khalid Badri, Director of Contact Centre said.
Badri urged the public to inform the civic body calling its hotline 800900 in case of any problem remains in any area of the emirate.
The civic body also coordinated with other concerned departments and sections to fix the tasks in the implementation of the plan both in terms of technical and professional support and of providing equipments and machinery required.
