Worker crushed to death under cardboard boxes in Sharjah

A 26-year-old Sri-lankan worker died on the spot after cardboard boxes fell on his head while working in a warehouse in Sharjah Airport.
The deceased identified as M.A.M was setting the boxes, which weighed 15kg, in a rack. The warehouse belonged to a company that provide aviation services.
The incident happened at 12:30pm when police received a call in the operation room.
The worker succumbed to his injuries, despite efforts by the airport medical team to save his life.
The police rushed the worker to Al Qasimi hospital where they  tried to resuscitate, but in vain. He was pronounced dead.
The police have launched an intensified investigation to determine the cause of the death and whether the negligence and lack of safety caused his death. The medical official at Al Qasimi hospital said that the man died due to internal bleeding in the chest and head, as well as serious damage to the skull.
