From street food vendors to mid-market restaurants, people have a wide range of options
Nothing quite catches the frenzy of Dubai residents as spotting the ruler of Dubai strolling around hotels, restaurants and shopping centres.
A day after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, ordered stunt drivers to clean Dubai streets, he was spotted touring City Walk.
Footage of the Dubai ruler at a pedestrian crossing has been circulating on social media. Was it to check on the community service of the 'stunt driving' boys or just a surprise inspection? We can't say for sure, but surely must have turned a few heads with his surprise visit.
Yesterday, he ordered the driver of an SUV and his two friends who performed stunts with their car on City Walk last week to do community service, which includes cleaning the streets four hours daily for 30 days.
The incident, which was caught on camera, went viral and drew widespread criticism from people.
In the video posted online, several people are seen running for safety as the vehicle careens dangerously close to them. "The stunt was made amidst busy traffic in the presence of families and children, violating traffic laws and general road etiquette," said Dubai Media Office.
