Dubai - The Saudi King was in the UAE as part of his regional tour.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia arrived in Dubai today, where he held a meeting His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler, at his ancestral home - the historic Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House.
Dubai Media Office tweeted two pictures of the meeting after their arrival at the house:
The Saudi King left shortly after their meeting to continue with his tour of the region.
The Maktoum house
This house was built in 1896 at the Al Shindagha area. It has a strategic location at the protruding part above Dubai Creek (Khor Dubai), which made it stand amidst Deira and Bur Dubai, overlooking the Arabian Gulf, according to Dubai Culture.
It was the residence of Al Maktoum ruling family till 1958, as it was a residence and premises for the Dubai monarch at the time, Shaikh Saeed Al Maktoum. This house witnessed the birth of his sons and grandsons and is also considered as a touristic icon that receives visitors all year round.
The house gives the visitor a chance to enjoy and know, the residence and premises of Dubai's Monarch during the first half of the 20th century, with its simplicity and vastness, the diversity of its wings and spaces (closed, semi-open and open) and the variety in its air towers (Barajeel).
The house is currently used as a museum to exhibit Dubai's history.
Earlier on Saturday, Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Supreme Council Members, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers, welcomed The King of Saudi Arabia in Abu Dhabi
They expressed their pride in the relationship of the UAE, led by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in terms of solid fraternal ties.
The event was also attended by various officials and dignitaries. The reception was also attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The two countries have been working together to revamp the ties that unite the peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC), and sustain their strategic continuous cooperation and coordination in issues of concern to the GCC and the Arab region as well.
Order of Zayed
The King was conferred UAE's highest civilian honour, the Order of Zayed, in recognition to his pivotal role in strengthening the fraternal cooperation between the two countries and supporting the Gulf and the Arab common action.
