Of the 122 students, who appeared in the Kerala Board Grade 10 examination this year, the school saw 17 of its students get more than 90 per cent in all 10 subjects.
All the schools have seen a 100 per cent pass percentage and according to heads of institutions, the results have been even better this year in UAE.
The 17 students from the Model School include Sonu Kumar, Afra Manar, Rasha Nazir, Angela Papachan, Shonima Hariharan, Furzana Valiyakath, Soumya Mohan, Lakshmi Thribhuvaran, Shahna Mariyam, Anju Sara Abraham, Faseeha Abdul Nazir, Habeeba Basheer, Fathima Fazrin, Jiji Venugopal, Shadiya Ibrahim Kutty, Jisha Annie Jacob and Riya Pious. Hiba Thasleem Ali from Our Own Indian School (OOIS), Dubai, and Hajara Sadiq Ali from New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah, also secured the highest position with an A+ in all 10 subjects.
Although the Board has been following the grading system for the last two years, this is the first time the Board has clearly stated that there will be no declaration of marks. According to the new system, A+ is for 90 per cent and above marks, A is for above 80 per cent, B+ is for 70 per cent and above and B is for 60 per cent and above.
Of the 46 students who appeared in the exam from the Indian School in Fujairah, Deepak Pradeep, Naveen Krishnan, Shifa Shakeel and Deepa Mohan got A+ in nine subjects.
In NIMS, Sharjah, which had 80 students sit for the exam, Aysha Hassan, Agnus K. Mathew and Jinsa Jacob got A+ in nine subjects. Out of the 47 students from OOIS, Aswathy Mechur Jayachandran, Neenu Thomas and Lakshmi Girish, got A+ in nine subjects.
From Gulf Model School, Dubai, Archana Ramesh got A+ in nine subjects and A in one subject. According to the school's principal, Molly Rajan, of the 100 candidates who sat for the exam, more than 80 per cent got above A+ in most of the subjects.
Al Majd English School, Dubai, had 36 students appear for the SSLC exam, of which Munaza A Majeed, Aneesu Rahman and Aliya Farooq emerged toppers in the school with nine A+ grades. Crescent English School also saw 100 per cent pass percentage and Muhammed Rais and Shereena came first in the school. New Indian School, Umm Al Quwain, said all its 18 students had passed with Almas Shehzadi Malik getting A+ in three subjects. Al Ain NIMS had 41 students appear and Helen Baby Thomas got eight A+ grades and 2 A grades, while Sruthi Raveendran got seven A+ and 3 A grades.
Sources also stated that the overall pass percentage was 82.29 throughout India and the Gulf states. More than 780 students appeared from the exam only from UAE.
