Two months of virtual seminars, prayer sessions and meetings will mark the harvest festival and thanksgiving season at one of the oldest churches in Abu Dhabi. ‘Gloria 2020’ will be held virtually under the theme ‘Healing for the World and Blessings to UAE’.
Amid the Covid-19 crisis, the church is using the virtual space for prayer and thanksgiving,” said St George Orthodox Cathedral Father Vicar Benny Mathew. He added that the sessions will motivate people affected by the pandemic.
The event will be inaugurated on Monday by entrepreneur Adeeb Ahamed with the participation of Dr Yakoob Mar Irenaios, Metropolitan of Kochi Diocese of the Indian Orthodox Church, Indian Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor, former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy and legislator Veena George. The two months of events will run till Christmas.
